The Vienna Explorer 2 - Saturday 12th September 2026 to Monday 14th September 2026

Progress on this Branch Line Society European Railtour has now reached the point where we feel we can provide dates and some provisional information.

The tours are NOT guaranteed to run - there is plenty of work to do yet, but we know many people require advance notification as early as possible for planning purposes. If you do choose to book any advance travel please ensure it is fully cancellable.

We hope to cover all the lines that we could not do on the Vienna Explorer 1, plus a number of others which are under investigation.

The provisional plan is to use electric loco 1110-524 to travel the Floridsdorfer Hochbahn, handing over to 2050-09 and a Regiobahn 2143 (different one from Vienna Explorer 1).

On the Sunday another comprehensive tour of the Vienna tram system is planned.

The possible Monday tour in another part of Austria must remain a mystery to avoid raising expectations.
